Abstract

Description
The youth are the hope and future of the Black people of Harlem thus the decision that the youth center should be expanded. It should take on the characteristic of the oratory of St. John Bosco. In other words, the center should be the place where the young feel that they are truly wanted. It is there that they should feel most welcomed, where love and concern is evident in all its aspects. It is a place where they can learn about the Supreme Being, in other words a place of evangelization. And, finally, it is a place of learning, and character formation. By expanding the center, it could become a ministry place parish since volunteers will be recruited from the parish. With our expanded center and fuller staff, the St. Thomas the Apostle youth center could become a place where education to faith could take place and where character formation in human values can become the key stone of our ministry as Salesians in full cooperation and collaboration with other religious (Sisters and Brothers) and people of the parish.
